Did you know incest and polygamy is legal in the Netherlands?
In Amerika is een rechtzaak bezig of homo’s en lesbienne’s uitgesloten mogen worden van het huwelijk. Twee weken lang vinden er hoorzittingen plaats in de Supreme Court van Californië waar besloten wordt of twee homosexuele paren mogen trouwen. Een recht dat door middel van Proposition 8 in Californië is afgenomen.
Aan het woord is hier de Chinese Amerikaan Dr. William Tam die fel tegen het same-sex huwelijk is. Hij wordt ondervraagd door David Boies. En zoals zo vaak komt ook deze Amerikaanse ‘bigot’ met het verdorven Nederland op de proppen om zijn zaak te bewijzen. Volgens Tam is in Nederland na het accepteren van same-sex huwelijken, vervolgens ook incest en polygamie toegestaan.
The Prop 8 defense case: the crazy, unleashed
The Perry v Schwarzenegger trial to decide the fate of California’s Proposition 8 is now recessed until February 26th, when closing arguments begin. If you only have time to read the testimony of one witness from the trial, you should make sure it’s that of Dr. William Tam. Liveblogging Day 8: Part V Tam continues:
Boies: Your paper says that after Netherlands legalized SS [same sex] marriage, Netherlands legalized incest and polygamy. Do you believe that?
Tam: Same sex marriage may not have led to legalization of incest and polygamy, but it happened.
B: Who told you that?
T: I found it on the Internet. I did not write this that polygamy was legalized in 2005.
B: You put it out there to convince people to vote for Prop. 8. Did you ever look up the law?
T: Yes, there was different documents that shows that’s true.
B: So after Netherlands legalized same sex marriage, legalized polygamy and incest.
T: I’m not sure about incest. That may have been legal before same sex marriage passed.
B: If that’s the case, then it has nothing to do with same sex marriage.
T: Yes, but it shows that if countries are loose with sex it leads to this…

B: You did not mention age of consent in the fourteen words you wrote?
T: No.
B: Age of consent has nothing to do with this [But Tam admitted that he told people that’s what would happen if 8 lost.] Age of consent did not change because of passage of ss marriage in Canada or Europe, right?
T: Canada right. I cannot say about Europe.

Marriage equality legislation was enacted in Canada in 2005.
The age of consent law was changed from 14 to 16 in 2008. There is a close in age exception for someone who is 14 or 15 having sex with someone who is less than 5 years older.
The age of consent went UP in Canada after gays were given the legal right to marry.

In Germany we essentially had 4 age “groups” for decades.
If you´re at least 18 years old, you´re legally an adult. What you do is your own affair as long as both consent.
If you´re able to join the military then you´re able to drink alcohol and have sex.
One exception: Your body is 18 years old but your mind is retarded. Say only 10 years old. Not allowed.
Between 16-18 years old:
You are considered mature enough to decide on your own about having sex. Which also includes that you can get the pill without the consent of your parents. If you demand it, your doctor isn´t even allowed to tell your parents.
If the age difference is very large, say a 16 year old having sex with a 40 year old, prosecutors might decide to investigate assuming someone (the parents) decide to sue. After having a talk with the 16 year old to determine if any pressure was involved.
Between 14-16 years old:
You can get the pill with your parents consent.
Once again, if the age difference is very large, say a 14 year old having sex with a 25 year old, prosecutors might decide to investigate assuming someone (the parents) decide to sue. After having a talk with the 14 year old to determine if any pressure was involved.
You are 13 years old or less:
You´re under the age of consent.
One exception maybe: Puberty hits every teenager at a different age. And puberty does start sooner today.
So a 13 year old having sex with a 15 year old might be investigated but not prosecuted. An adult having sex with a 13 year old would definitely be prosecuted.

Ooops, sorry, he already had one.
And, by the way, “polygamy” comes from “ponygame”, a game to satisfy lonely cowboys a century ago.
