Maar we hebben het dus over de Engelsman Nick Clegg - kandidaat premier voor de Liberal Democratic Party. Viazijn moeder Hermance van den Wall Bake is hij half Nederlands. Met enige regelmaat komt hij naar Nederland om familie en vrienden te bezoeken. Hij doet het excellent in de peilingen, dus straks kan Job Cohen gewoon zijn moerstaal spreken bij de thee op Downing Street 10. Er is zelfs een filmpje van Onze man in Londen waarin hij Nederlands spreekt. Ietwat bekakt, maar een kniesoor… Filmpje hier op de site van The Telegraph. Ach, het is niet meer te zien. Waarschijnlijk omdar het benadrukken van zijn ‘inter’nationaliteit niet goed is voor zijn kansen. Maar JdeW heeft dit nog kunnen vinden. Van EenVandaag — op exact 3.40 is hij te horen. Vloeiend of niet?
In onderstaand verhaal verhaal wordt Clegg overigens bekritiseerd door een Amerikaanse reporter omdat hij anti-Amerikaans zou zijn. Waarom? Hij was tegen de Irak-oorlog! De kanjer Zbigniew Brzezinski was er gelukkig bij.

Laura Bush wrote a book about the awful, mean people who dared to call her Commander in Chief and husband President George W. Bush names. Names like: incompetent and liar. Housespeaker Nancy Pelosi (D) called Bush ‘an incompetent leader’. And Senate leader Harry Reid (D) called her husband a ‘loser’ and a ‘liar’.
Yeah! Georgie wasn’t an incompetent leader. He was the Commander Guy! And just because he told, by some counts, 935 lies? Who cares? Not a single one of them was about a blowjob.

It struck me I was seeing a lot more rumors about President Obama, and a lot more false rumors, than I remembered from earlier years. So I ran the numbers. After eight years in the White House (with Snopes.com around all that time), George W. Bush has been the subject of 47 internet rumors. After less than two years in office, Barack Obama has been the subject of 87.
Even more telling is the relative accuracy of those stories. For Bush, 20 rumors, or 43%, are true. Only 17, or 36%, are false. The remainder are of mixed veracity (4), undetermined (4), or unclassifiable (2). For Obama only 8 of the 87 rumors, or 9%, are true, and a whopping 59, or 68%, are whoppers. If you were Sue Lowden’s press secretary, this report broadcast yesterday on Reno’s KTVN-TV had to be painful. The first two minutes of the clip focused on how Lowden has become a national laughingstock for proposing that bartering with chickens could help cover medical costs for uninsured Americans…and then it gets really bad, when Lowden (for the first time) tries to defend herself on camera.
I just hope Republicans don’t see this video. If they do, Lowden is toast in the primary, and at this point, we definitely want her to be the nominee. Fortunately, there’s only a month before the primary and she’s leading the field.

Kieskompas berekent via dertig stellingen welke politieke partij het best bij u past - inhoudelijk, dus niet emotioneel. Met andere woorden: stel u wilt graag PVV stemmen maar komt via het Kieskompas uit bij de PvdD dan is dat geen links complot, maar uw eigen keuze naar aanleiding van uw antwoorden op de vragen.

Oklahoma lawmakers granted their physicians legal protection to mislead or misinform pregnant women in an effort to impose their personal beliefs on a patient. In another rule they mandated pregnant women who ask for abortion to undergo ultrasound.
The Oklahoma Legislature voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to override vetoes of two highly restrictive abortion measures, one making it a law that women undergo an ultrasound and listen to a detailed description of the fetus before having an abortion.
The second measure passed into law Tuesday protects doctors from malpractice suits if they decide not to inform the parents of a unborn baby that the fetus has birth defects. The intent of the bill is to prevent parents from later suing doctors who withhold information to try to influence them against having an abortion.

Sinds kort werk ik in een restaurant als serveerster. Vandaag stopte ik bij een tafel waar een jong gezin zat te eten. Ik vroeg of ze verder nog iets wensten.
“Mag ik wat mayonaise”, vroeg de moeder.
