This is what rednecks believe

This is what the constant campaign of rightwing funded misinformation can do to the less educated part of a country.

It's the result of a PPP poll under Republican primary voters in Alabama and Mississippi.

S’il vous plait don’t talk about Romney’s time in France

Republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney is a mormon. When he was young he was in France trying to convert Europeans into a believe where a man can have more wifes. Amazingly what he learned most is face rejection, writes Le Monde:

The French daily Le Monde today explored Mitt Romney's time as a young missionary in France and its effect on him today. The piece (which isn't available online) notes that he learned the French language and how to face rejection, and also explores a fatal car crash that darkened his time there.

The paper also writes that people who know Romney from that era have apparently been asked by the campaign not to talk about it.

No American unilateral military intervention in Syria

President Obama has ruled out any unilateral military intervention in Syria. The U.S. president said that you cannot compare Syria to Libya, since Libya was easy to intervene and Syria is not. It is much better military equiped and better trained and lead than Libya.

is Mitt Romney urging the Iranians to get the bomb?

In an effort to attack President Obama, Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney wrote an opinion piece in the Washington Post in which he stated that Iran is “racing to build a nuclear bomb.” Even though at the moment U.S. intelligence and information from the IAEA suggest different.
Apparently Romney thinks his chances of getting elected as the Republican presidential nominee will get better by telling American voters he wants to destroy another country.

More and more defense and intelligence leaders in Israel speak out that the cost of war with the Islamic republic will outweigh the consequences to Israel.Even former Israeli Mossad director Efraim Halevy said that Romney’s militaristic talk could be counterproductive. He said that Romney, the winner of six of yesterday's primaries in ten states, is effectively “telling the Iranians, ‘You better be quick about it,’” in the Huffington Post Halevy stated:

If I’m sitting here in the month of March 2012 reading this, and I’m an Iranian leader, what do I understand? I have nine more months to run as fast as I...

Mitt Romney wil be the Republican candidate

Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum is still dropping like a stone in local and national polls. The more Republicans know about this radical christian the more they dislike him and the more they see he is absolutely unelectable.

Gallup Poll, national:       Romney 38, Santorum 22, Gingrich 15, Paul 12
NBC/WSJ Poll, national:  Romney 38, Santorum 32, Gingrich 13, Paul 13

And in the national elections Romney will lose to Obama, even in the rightwing poll by Rasmussen.

NBC/WSJ,Poll: Obama d. Romney (50-44); Obama d. Paul (50-42); Obama d. Santorum (53-39); Obama d. Gingrich (54-37)
Rasmussen Poll: Obama d. Romney (45-43); Obama d. Paul (43-41); Obama d. Santorum (46-42); Obama d. Gingrich (48-40)

Unless we are attacked, war should be the option of last resort

The National Iranian American Council had a full page in the Washington Post today in which it asked President Obama, now in talks with Israeli premier Netanyahu, to resist the push for war with Iran. The ad is signed by eight retired, high ranking, military and intelligence officials:

Unless we or an ally is attacked, war should be the option of last resort. Our brave servicemen and women expect you to exhaust all diplomatic and peaceful options before you send them into harm’s way.

Preventing a nuclear armed Iran is rightfully your priority and red line. Fortunately, diplomacy had not been exhausted and peaceful solutions are still possible.

Were the Maya’s off by 28 years?

There's a big asteroid on it's way to the earth and it will reach us in 2040. So, were the Maya's off by 28 years? Sadly to say: no they were not!

This asteroid is not a dino killer. It's size is to small and it's unlikely to hit the earth. But if it does, depending on closing velocity, strike angle, and the composition of impactor and target, simulations predict that the hit would look like the explosion of a hydrogen bomb. Without the deadly gamma rays and radioactive fallout. It could destroy a small town and no more.

But then, it could be your town.

Obama will attack Iran if it developes an atombomb

President Obama spoke to neoconservative magazine The Atlantic. In that interview the winner of the Nobelprize for Peace issued his most unambiguous and inflexible threat to Iran till now. If that country appears to be developing a nuclear bomb the U.S. will attack it.
The warning could also be explained as a warning to Israel that it should not attack Iran. This is a comment in the Washington Post:

David Ignatius: The other point that struck me was Obama’s clarity about establishing a “red line” between an Iranian civilian nuclear program (acceptable) and a weapons program (unacceptable). His message to Israel: If the Iranians cross this red line, the United States will attack. Is Obama bluffing? Who can say, but if you’re an Iranian decision maker (or, perhaps more important, Netanyahu) you have to weigh a bit more heavily the possibility that the president really does mean what he says.

The first week of President Rick Santorum

American political analists agree on what godfearing christian Rick Santorum would do in his first week of office if he were to become president of the United States.
By the way, Newt Gingrich would do the same, after skipping day one to five.

* On the first day Santorum will announce the War on Birth Control.
* On the second day he will announce the War on Sodomy.
* On the third day he will bomb Google. [search 'Santorum' on Google for explanation]
* On the fourth day he will declare the War On Heavy Metal.
* On the fifth day he will explain to the American people why God wants us to bomb Iran. Santorum will argue that if God didn't want us to bomb Iran, he would have given Iran nuclear weapons to defend themselves with.
* On the sixth day he will bomb Iran.
* On the seventh day he will rest.

Exaggerated?

How to live your own miserable life

Republican presidential contender Newt Gingrich can be a breath of fresh air. This is what the diplomat said yesterday campaigning in Tennessee, He wants the U.S. Army to leave Afghanistan and has some nice words goodbye for the Afghans:

"You know, you’re going to have to figure out how to live your own miserable life… Because you clearly don’t want to learn from me how to be unmiserable.’”

Santorum opposes separation of church and state

This man is absolutely unbelievable. Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum doesn't believe in one a the most basic elements that brought enlightenment to a cruel and violent medieval believe system. Santorum doesn't believe in the fundamental values of modern democracies. One has to wonder whether there's a lot of fundamental difference between this man and the Taliban.

Santorum is a prime example of a person whose whole career is based on God. It means you don't really have to understand the value of anything in the real world. Santorum's values have been written down in riddles many centuries ago.

I don’t believe in an America where the separation between church and state is absolute. The idea that the church can have no influence or no involvement in the operation of the state is absolutely antithetical to the objectives and visions of our country.

Creature with nasty horns doing really mean stuff

The view of Republican presidential contender and frontrunner Rick Santorum on science?
It's ok as long as it shows there's a mythical creature somewhere in the skies in control of everything that happens on Earth - like war and sickness and crime - and there's another creature with nasty horns somewhere deep in the Earth doing really mean stuff.

Rick Santorum: "I think there are a lot of problems with the theory of evolution, and do believe that it is used to promote to a worldview that is anti-theist, that is atheist."
