The quality of American politics

This letter went out from the office of Pennsylvania Republican Congressman Joe Pitts last month in a respons to questions from a voter about Pitts policies on the Middle East. The letter was highlighted in The Times of Israel.

“With the global war against terrorism, it is now incumbent on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasir Arafat to clamp down on Palestinian extremists that have perpetuated violence and to restart a peace process that has collapsed.”

The bad news is: Yasser Arafat died in 2004 and Ariel Sharon is in a coma since 2006.
The good news is: These talks have as much chance of success as those between the current heads of state.

Thanks to George W. Bush the end of economic misery is in sight

The end of economic misery is in sight. George W. Bush is going to write a book on how to get America and the world growing again. According to the New York Times the former president, who turned a record U.S. budget surplus into a record deficit and got the Great Recession started, plans to 'publish a book outlining strategies for economic growth'.
Bush said that on Tuesday when he made a rare visit to Washington to defend his policy of promoting freedoms worldwide by bombing non christian countries until they are democratic.

Bush knows what he is talking about because under his watch GDP and employment posted their worst performance of any post-war president. Under Bush for the first time since 1945 household income went down. To conclude: Bush presided over the worst economy of the post-war era.

Is the American thought and speech police harassing Republicans?

America is a country where instruments of violence as the gun and the army are not only accepted but greatly admired. From the left to the right Americans honor the U.S. army, an organisation created to spread death worldwide, every day.
So it's not surprising that the U.S. has the highest murder rate in the developed western world. And when it's up to Republican Sarah Steelman, candidate for the Senate, there's one more killing on the way.

Yesterday she defended the call at a campaign meeting to “kill the Claire Bear”. That was referring to Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill against who Steelman is running.
It's a reminder of what happened to Democrat politician Gabby Giffords. On Sarah Palin's website she had a gun pointed at her district. Giffords was shot in the head two years ago.

This is what a supporter of Steelman said this week:

Scott Boston, a St. Louis Tea Party activist, “She walks around like she’s some sort of Rainbow Brite Care Bear or something but really she’s an evil monster. We have to kill the Claire Bear.”

In this was the respons of Steelman yesterday:

"Are we just we just going to...

Republicans want the freedom to express right to kill opponent

The U.S.A. is a very violent country, you see violence is in every aspect of it's culture: the adoration of the gun, the adoration of the army. That despite what this Missouri Democratic Party spokesperson said: "What makes America different from the rest of the world is that we settle our political disagreements without threats of violence."

He responded to this statement at a rally supporting Missouri Republican challenger Sarah Steelman of Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill.

Scott Boston, a St. Louis Tea Party activist, “She walks around like she’s some sort of Rainbow Brite Care Bear or something but really she’s an evil monster.”
“We have to kill the Claire Bear.”

Republican Sarah Steelman was at the rally and didn't respond to that statement. When later asked, she said: “I may disagree with the words Mr. Boston chose in his statement, but I understand his frustration and I emphatically support his right to express his views”

No one has been arrested but police have assigned extra security to Senator McCaskill.

Global warming scientists are like Fidel Castro and Osama bin Laden

After being ridiculed in the American press and drasties yesterday, the conservative Heartland Institute, an anti-science thinktank financed by the oil, coal and tobacco industry, decided to take down their billboards on Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago.
On the billboards climate scientists are compared to serial killers, marxists and terrorists like Ted Kaczynski (the Unabomber), Charles Manson, Fidel Castro and Osama bin Laden.

Amazingly, apart from Big Oil and Coal, Heartland gets money from companies like Microsoft, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Nucor, and Time Warner. So apparently supporting hateful morons is good for your image in the U.S.

This is what Heartland wrote on their website about the campaign:

Of course, not all global warming alarmists are murderers or tyrants. ... The people who still believe in man-made global warming are mostly on the radical fringe of society. This is why the most prominent advocates of global warming aren’t scientists. They are murderers, tyrants, and madmen.

Global warming scientists are like Charles Manson and the Unabomber

This is a billboard you can see on the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago. This one is with Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber. There are more with Charles Manson, Fidel Castro and Osama bin Laden.

The billboards are the product of the conservative Heartland Institute, an anti-science thinktank heavily sponsored by the oill and coal industry. This is what the Heartland thinks of 99 percent of the climate scientist and of journalist who report accurately on it.

The argument is probably that people who believe in global warming are more out of touch with reality than Charles Manson and the Unabomber.
Amazingly, ten years ago more than sixty percent of Americans believed that manmade global warming is real, now it's less than 50 percent. Thanks to well funded institutes like Heartland.

By the way, these are the same people who are gonna spent lots of money to stop the reelection of President Obama.

Obama took slogan from ‘Marx, Stalin, Mao, Mussolini, Mbeki, Hitler’

FORWARD, is the new campain slogan Barack Obama decided to use for the 2012 reelection campaign.

It was unveiled yesterday in a video. The slogan's quite obvious subtext is that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will take the country backwards.

American conservatives know where President Obama got the word.

Breitbart.com explaines that Obama took the slogan from decades of communist iconography. From Marx, Stalin, and Mao, to Benito Mussolini, to Thabo Mbeki, the former president of South Africa.
How does writer Joel Pollak know that? “Communist leaders frequently used - and still use - the word ‘forward,’”

The Washington Times agrees that the word Forward has a “rich association with European Marxism.”

Tea Party blogger Jim Hoft found an even worse character to connect the slogan with... who else than Adolf Hitler. He writes that Forward was a marching song of the Hitler youth. He proves it with a picture of the Hitler Jugend wearing Obama pins.

Note:
Forward is the state motto of Teaparty led Wisconsin.
Forward is also the 642th most commonly used English word out of 868,000, according to...

No wonder we have trouble in Afghanistan, we’re in like 18 wars

The War on Women, on Christmas, on Pizza's, on Fox news....

The Vatican is angry with America's 55,000 Catholic nuns - organised in the Leadership Conference of Women Religious - because they supported President Obama's compromise with bishops over insurance coverage for birth control for women. .

American Catholic bishops like Daniel Jenky are angry too:

Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services, and health care.

In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obama – with his radical, pro abortion and extreme secularist agenda, now seems intent on following a similar path.

Sister Simone Campbell, head of the organization for nuns, responded:

I've no idea what they're talking about [...] Our role is to live the gospel with those who live on the margins of society. That's all we do.

You have the right to remain silent…

This is what politicians in the country that gave the world the Great Recesion are busy with. From the State of Oklahoma.

A proposed law in Oklahoma that would grant embryos full rights as people from the moment of conception has failed without coming to a vote in the House of Representatives.

Why don’t Catholic bishops just shut up for the next twenty years

That's the problem with religion. You don't need to have a brain to become a leading figure in that section of society. You don't even need to be nice. You can be a sick moron and a total shithead and still become a bishop of the Roman Catholic church. Like bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria, Illinois.
What he says here is because Democrats, supported by President Obama, want to give American women the right to contraception, A right any American woman can chose to use or not.

Does anyone understand why Catholic bishops just don't shut up for the next twenty years or so anywhay, considering all the shit that has come to light from that group of people that lives of the exploitation of the innocence of people?.

Jenky: "Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services, and health care.

In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obama – with his radical, pro abortion and extreme secularist agenda, now seems intent on following a similar path."

Young critics of Fox News compared to Stalin and Hitler

This week Fox News boss Roger Ailes gave a lecture to aspiring young journalists in America. Really... no joke. The boss of Fox News - a subsidary of News Corp. which is being investigated in England for obstruction of justice and malpractice - is lecturing journalists. And he had some 'fair and balanced' advice for the young critics in the audience.

Ailes: “What you’re really telling me is that there’s a little cable channel over here that’s driving you nuts because it won’t line up with your worldview.
Remember, the last time all of us got lined up together, we were lined up by two guys – Hitler and Stalin. If there’s an alternative point of view, don’t wet your pants.”

Hand holding is a dangerous gateway sexual activity

In Tennessee sex education is based on abstinence-only programs, that means kids are learned to have no sex until they are married. It's of course an abject failure. Kids who are not married still have sex in Tennessee, just less educated.

That's why the Republican controled Senate updated the law. In the new bill kids are warned for hand-holding and kissing because they are dangerous "gateway sexual activities":

Last week, the Senate passed SB 3310, a bill to update the state’s abstinence-based sex education curriculum to define holding hands and kissing as “gateway sexual activities.” Just one senator voted against the legislation; 28 voted in favor.

Fox reporting on the rule of law in America

Fox News Orlando (WOFL) has been reporting on the killing of 17-year old black boy Trayvon Martin by white vigilante George Zimmerman in Sanford. Yesterday they had a report on the Neo-Nazi group, National Socialist Movement. This group frequently conducts armed patrols in the streets of Sanford, Florida.

In a report of the group the Fox reporter introduced the Neo-Nazi's as a 'civil rights group'. She even interviewed the leader of this 'civil right's group' about his mission of protecting law abiding citizens of Florida. Never did the Fox reporter disclose any of this information:

The group openly idolizes Adolf Hitler, described by the National Socialist Movement as, “Our Fuhrer, the beloved Holy Father of our age … a visionary in every respect.” The group wants only heterosexual “pure-blood whites” to be allowed U.S. citizenship and that all nonwhites should be deported, regardless of legal status.

Green energy is UN plot to control peoples lives

Conspiracy theories are used by people who can only understand the real world when it's simplified to the level of a ten year old. The rightwing Tea Party, which represents about 30 percent of American conservatives, is full of it.
Like: Obama is born in Kenia, JFK was shot for wearing a hoodie.

This one from Arizona State Senator Judy Burges is great too. It has a good chance of becoming the law in Arizona. It's a bill to block all environmental programs administered or funded by the government for the use of green energy.

Burges and her Tea Party friends fear that clean energy programs are nothing more than a plot by the United Nations to create a single world government to control people’s lives. She has made that fear into law.

Burges’ Senate Bill 1507 is based upon a conspiracy theory about “Agenda 21.” That was a non-binding international plan for sustainable development created by the United Nations and adopted in 1992 by 178 countries, including the U.S. under Bush senior.

The bill bars Arizona “from adopting or implementing the United Nations Rio Declaration on Environment and Development.”

Under the provisions of Burges’ bill, the state, counties and cities could not accept funds from, spend funds from or give funds to “certain non-governmental organizations,” including non-profit groups and contractors, for any of the declaration’s initiatives.

And now there’s Hoodiegate!

Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera said that black kids who go outside wearing a hoodie are asking to get shot.

Apparently he didn't know that FoxNews.com sells hoodies with the Fox name on it as BuzzFeed found out.
After their report Fox has removed all advertisement of hoodies and sweatshirts from their online store.

Who can tell me what is happening here?

What a remarkable man President Obama is.

Canada to dangerous for battle-hardened Cheney

How is that brave man doing who so gladly send hundreds of thousands of American soldiers into useless battles? The brains behind the Bushmen... Dick Cheney.

Former vice-president Cheney canceled a trip to Canada yesterday where he was to speak about the awful state of American politics. Sadly now even Canada is too dangerous for the battle-hardened Republican.

Cheney feared "for his personal safety” because of possible demonstrations, said the event promoter.

NRA members victims of vicious War on Guns

What most Americans don't realise is that there's a huge terrorist organisation in their midst. It's called the National Rifle Association, the NRA. They promote the right of every American to have a weapon at hand all the time and everywhere. They want Americans for example to be allowed arms in schools, on campusses, in church, in bars and in places where politicians gather.

Remarkably, the NRA is able to promote the view that their members are the victims of a vicious War on Guns. And the state of Missouri is having none of that.

The state of Missouri has no laws to protect the gay community from being fired. But soon they hope to have a new nondiscrimination bill to protect gun owners. If the law passes, it will ensure that anyone who legally carries a firearm cannot be fired, denied benefits, or otherwise discriminated against for that choice.

So Missourians should be happy to know that If a gun owner takes his gun to work and shoots someone, his job will still be there when he gets out of prison.
