Coir is een groep van fundamentalistische Ierse katholieken die fel tegen het nieuwe verdrag van Europa is. Ze beweerden onder andere dat een ja stem de invoering van abortus in Ierland zou betekenen. De Ierse katholieke kerk zei overigens dat het iedereen vrij stond om ja dan wel nee te stemmen. Na het Verdrag van Lissabon twee keer te hebben afgewezen, stemde zestig procent van de Ieren dit weekeinde voor.

Fair play to you for campaignin against this Godless treaty, They just want to take away our Holy God and replace Him with science. That too and the Fact that the Godless treaty will lead us to being swamped with asylum seakers and foreigners from Africa is this what Pearse gave his life for I ask you?

De leugens van Coir gingen zover dat een ja-stem zou betekenen dat Ieren in een Europees leger zouden moeten dienen. Mogelijk onder president Tony Blair dus.

Niet 60 pct v.d. Ieren stemde voor.
Een heel klein percentage van Ieren stemde voor.
