Op zondag 12 september zendt Nederland 2 de documentaire Wilders, the Movie uit. Filmmakers Joost van der Valk en Mags Gavan proberen Geert Wilders een half jaar te volgen en te spreken te krijgen. Via partijgenoten, collega’s en zijn tot nu toe onzichtbare kiezers willen de filmmakers het fenomeen Wilders begrijpen.

The Dove World Church in Gainesville, Florida, is organizing a festive “International Burn a Quran Day” on September 11. Even though General David Petraeus warned yesterday that the hate campaign “could put the lives of American troops in danger and damage the war effort.”
The Christian pastor leading the festivities is Terry Jones, author of the book called “Islam Is Of The Devil.” He said is “weighing the situation,” but emphasized that he’s not backing down from the event. During a combative interview with CNN, he claimed, “peaceful Muslims” should be supporting his campaign. “Moderate Muslims should be on our side.” The pastor offered though to pray for the soldiers who might be put at greater risk. To that we say: Thank the Lord!
CHETRY: Are you willing to have the blood of soldiers on your hands by this demonstration?
JONES: Yeah, we are actually very concerned of course. We are taking the General’s words very serious. We are continuing to pray about the action on September the 11th. We are indeed very concerned about it. […]

In Australische kranten wordt gezegd dat de Australische geestelijke Feiz Muhammed boos is op Geert Wilders omdat die “een leer van haat predikt. De claim dat ik op de een of andere manier hem heb bedreigd, is niets dan een goedkope publiciteitstunt.”
Sterker nog, Wilders zou Australië willen destabiliseren. Even in herinnering brengen wat deze Islamitische gelovige eerder zei:
“We zien de duivelse vuiligheid van mensen als die vuile Nederlandse politicus. Eenieder die onze leer bespot, lacht om de islam en die verlaagt, moet de dood in, onthoofd hem, hak zijn hoofd eraf.”
Sheikh Feiz ontkent overigens niet dat hij bovenstaande heeft gezegd maar hij stelt keihard dat hij Wilders niet bij naam heeft genoemd.
En we moeten eerlijk zijn, dat klopt.
Dus fijn, dat is dan ook weer opgelost.

Nog maar heel even en dan is het 9/11. Met spanning wordt in de VS uitgekeken naar de aankomst van onze man in den vreemde, Geert Wilders. Op negen september kan hij in New York namelijk helemaal los gaan over de Islam want een rechts kabinet zit er in Nederland toch niet meer in.
Toch kan het wel eens zo zijn dat de aandacht van het soort moslims dat voortdurend op zoek is naar beledigingen van Westerlingen niet gevestigd zal zijn op wat er gebeurd bij Ground Zero maar op een plaats elders in Amerika. De Dove World Church gaat namelijk Korans verbranden om de wereld vooruit te helpen. Het is weliswaar verboden door de rechter maar daar trekken echte Christenen zich niets van aan.
The man who established the popular progressive blog DailyKos, Markos Moulitsas, has written a new book: American Taliban: How War, Sex, Sin and Power Bind Jihadists and the Radical Right. It examines the similarities between Islamic extremists and the American rightwing. Markos already wasn’t very popular in conservative, neocon circles. Maybe because of his Greek name or because he is a homosexual but certainly because he has served in the US army, which most neocons can’t say. But after publishing this book he’s not that popular in some progressive circles too. Many liberals have strongly condemned the book on the ground that it is offensive and misguided to suggest that American conservatives are comparable to Muslim Terrorists by which they mean the Taliban. Glenn Greenwald finds some of these objections both absurd and revealing.
In what universe is it “obscene” to compare the architects of the Iraq War, the torture regime, and endless War with Muslims “to killers and terrorists”? The comparison is true by definition. The people who launched the attack on Iraq are guilty of an aggressive war — what the Nuremberg prosecutors condemned as the “kingpin crime” that “holds together” all other war crimes — which killed hundreds of thousands of innocent human beings, turned millions more into refugees, and destroyed an entire nation. Gaarne wijs ik jullie even op onderstaande foto in de Australische krant de Sydney Morning Herald. En met name het onderschrift: “Equally extreme… Feiz Muhammed and Geert Wilders.” Vinden jullie ook dat het voorstellen om een nieuwe belasting in te voeren (kopvoddentax) even extreem is als het oproepen om iemand te vermoorden. Of specifieker, te onthoofden.
Het staat tussen aanhalingstekens, dat wel.
Het is dan ook een uitspraak van de Australische Sheikh Fedaa Majzoub. De andere Australische Sheikh Feiz Muhammed weigerde commentaar te geven op zijn uitspraken eerder deze week in een preek in Campbelltown over ‘die vuile Nederlandse politicus’ Wilders. “Eenieder die onze leer bespot, lacht om de islam en die verlaagt, moet de dood in, onthoofd hem, hak zijn hoofd eraf.”
The Sydney Morning Herald - A controversial Australian Muslim preacher, Feiz Mohammad, has refused to comment on reports he called for the beheading of the Dutch anti-Islamic politician Geert Wilders, as Muslim leaders in Sydney condemned his comments.

Volgens Teheran zijn er meer dan honderd Nederlandse zakenlui tegen de sancties voor Iran. Mogen we een lijstje zien aub? Ben toch wel benieuwd welke Nederlandse zakenlui er precies tegen de sancties zijn. Ze zijn opgelegd omdat het land bezig is een atoombom te ontwikkelen.
TEHRAN, Tehran Times Economic Desk – Iran’s ambassador to Holland said the sanctions against Iran were of no avail and recently over 100 Dutch businessmen have signed a statement raising their objection.

We weten niet wat de zwarte kousen kerkgangers vorige week zondag hebben uitgespookt maar kerkbezoek was het vast en zeker niet. Na vijven werd de hele Bible Belt van Nederland gegeseld door zwaar onweer. De rest van Nederland bleef gespaard. Lijsters hebben al weer het dak van de gereformeerde boer Joop van Ooijen in Giessenburg ondergescheten. En het moeten wel gereformeerde schijtlijsters zijn want er staat: ‘JEZUS REDT’. Echter de letters hebben een andere kleur gekregen. Voorheen waren ze wit, nu rood. Ja hoor, ook lijsters hebben ‘die tijd van de maand’, vraag maar aan ramirezi.
De vraag is of het gemeentebestuur van Giessenburg akkoord gaat met deze blijde boodschap. Eerder vond men de witte vogelpoep geen gezicht en werd geeist de letters te verwijderen op straffe van een dwangsom van 500 euro per week.
Ik ben Yassmine El Ksaihi, 24 jaar en voorzitter van de Poldermoskee. Zo ben ik ook in aanraking gekomen met Timu Kota en de geweldige mensen achter de stichting. Ik heb een commercieel economie achtergrond en ben al 5 jaar werkzaam bij Radar, manager advies en uitvoeringsorganisatie op sociale vraagstukken.
Ben erg sociaal ingesteld, ben altijd benieuwd naar motieven van mensen om bepaalde acties te ondernemen en hoe sommigen aan doorzettingskracht komen en het nooit opgeven. Mijn levensmotto is daarop gebaseerd: Alles komt goed aan het einde, zo niet, dan is het niet het einde!
Ben erg benieuwd naar de nieuwe methodiek en hoop veel interessante mensen te ontmoeten. Om zo van elkaar te leren en die kennis weer proberen door te geven!

A new Newsweek poll has found that a majority of Republicans believe President Obama “sympathizes with the goals of Islamic fundamentalists who want to impose Islamic law around the world.” Only 33 percent of Republicans said the “allegation” was “probably not true,” while 38 percent said it was probably true and 14 percent said it was “definitely true.”
Geert Wilders zei gisteren in een interview met een Australische televisiezender dat Islam niet vergeleken kan worden met het Christendom. Verder noemde de PVV-leider Islam een gewelddadige ideologie net als facisme en communisme. Hij riep ook op omalle immigratie van moslims naar Westerse landen te stoppen.
Wilders is nu op weg naar New York waar hij zal spreken op de 9/11 rally tegen de komst van een Islamitisch centrum op enkele honderdsen meters van Ground Zero.

Dit is wel iets. Twee vliegtuigpassagiers - Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al-Soofi en Hezem al-Murisi - zijn op Schiphol gearresteerd met in hun bagage een lege shampo-fles waaraan horloges waren bevestigd en een lege medicijnfles waaraan mobiele telefoons waren bevestigd. Het lijkt daarmee op een oefening voor een bomaanslag. In flessen kan explosieve vloeistof worden vervoerd en horloges en mobiele telefoons kunnen worden gebruikt bij het exploderen van een bom. Ook zouden er messen en scharen in de koffers hebben gezeten.

Waar is dit vraagt u zich zeker ook af? In welk achterlijk land worden mensen gegeseld omdat ze voor een publiek van mannen en vrouwen hebben opgetreden. Iran, Afghanistan, Saoedi-Arabië? Nee, nee, nee, alhoewel het ligt wel in de buurt.
Het gaat om Israel waar, als rabbi Yitzhak het voor het zeggen krijgt er geen plaats is voor ongetrouwde mannen en vrouwen om samen te zijn en zeker niet om te luisteren naar muziek, laat staan te dansen. Overigens blijkt uit de video dat de straf vooral symbolisch is, hetgeen toch een iets andere indruk maakt dan straf die onvrijwillig wordt toegebracht voor morele zonden.

The outlandish stories about Barack Hussein Obama are simply false: he wasn’t born outside the United States (the tabloid “proof” has been debunked as a crude forgery); he has never been a Muslim (he was raised by an atheist and became a practicing Christian in his 20s); his policies are not “socialist” (he explicitly rejected advice to nationalize the banks and wants the government out of General Motors and Chrysler as quickly as possible); he is not a “warmonger” (he promised in 2008 to withdraw from Iraq and escalate in Afghanistan and has done so); he is neither a coddler of terrorists (he has already ordered the killing of more “high value” Qaeda targets in 18 months than his predecessor did in eight years), nor a coddler of Wall Street (his financial-reform package, while watered down, was the most vigorous since the New Deal), nor an enemy of American business (he and the Chamber of Commerce favor tax credits for small business that were stymied by the GOP to deprive him of a victory). UPDATE, augustus 31st, 2010: Volgens advocaat Gerard Spong heeft Desi Bouterse een hersenbloeding gehad. „In medische kringen in Suriname weten ze het nu 75 tot 85 procent zeker”, aldus Spong. Volgens hem heeft Bouterse verschillende cardiologen geraadpleegd en kwamen zij tot deze conclusie.
De discussie over wat wel en niet kan in Suriname is nu toch losgebarsten. Een beetje laat, zegt u, de verkiezingen zijn al geweest? Correct, maar je moet een keer beginnen. De discussie werd aangezwengeld door de wegens drugshandel tot zes jaar veroordeelde Ronnie Brunswijk. Hij blijkt grote problemen te hebben met minister Martin Misiedjan (Justitie/Politie). En Brunswijk spreekt namens een groot deel van de Surinaamse bevolking.
Brunswijk vindt namelijk dat bovenstaand kapsel niet kan.
De schaar er in, is zijn keiharde politieke standpunt.
Dus na Geert Wilders’ kopvoddentax in Nederland hebben we nu ook Brunswijks rasta-ban in Suriname. Misiedjan - gespecialiseerd in mensenrechten en een belijdend lid van de Rastafari-kerk - heeft geen gevolg gegeven aan de oproep.
Geruchten gaan dat Ronnie Brunswijk de uitnodiging om met Geert Wilders te spreken op de 9/11 anti-moskee rally in New York heeft afgeslagen zolang het internationale opsporingsbevel tegen hem niet is ingetrokken.
Nine hundred cases of abuse reported in Dutch clergy
The Hague, News24 - A commission set up five months ago to look into suspected sexual abuse by Roman Catholic clergy in the Netherlands said yesterday it has received about 900 reports from alleged victims.
